On what seemed to be a VERY cold night, the Fulham Badgers met the Fulham FC Academy Under 16 side in a friendly match. We went along to see how the side got on.
The Badgers needed a good warm up to prepare them for the big game ahead of them.
The players went out onto the pitch and started kicking the ball around, with some fantastic shots being save by the keepers. With all the talented players playing for the Badgers, it was clear to see they were going to put up a good game.
Once the Badgers were warmed up they were more than ready to get stuck into the game. After the U16 team turned up they had a chat with all the players and then got stuck into the match.
The match was slightly different to the traditional one with a goal at both ends. In this match there were three different goals for the players to attack and defend.
The Badgers didn’t have any problem defending their goals. There were some excellent saves made high and low! They also didn’t have a problem scoring goals. Most players lost count of how many times the ball hit the back of the net. There were some absolutely cracking celebrations that put smiles on everyone’s faces.

“It’s great to see so many Fulham Badgers at training, of all ages, getting into football! I think it’s a great idea to get the Under 16s from Fulham FC involved as it showcases the great work that’s happening in and around the Fulham set up. The Badgers have been running for 10 years, its no wonder they were scoring goals for fun”.
