Earlier this month Crystal Palace hosted a friendly against Millwall. It was a fantastic morning’s football!

Sophia from DSActive took a warm-up for both teams. This gave everyone a chance to say ‘hello’ to each other before the matches started in earnest.

It was very clear, though, that there was just one thing on all the players’ minds…“When will the games start?”

As Crystal Palace has such a big squad they fielded two teams for the mini-tournament. This didn’t scare Millwall though!

To kick things off, one of the Crystal Palace teams played Millwall. It was a very even game, with end-to-end action. There were some fantastic goals, followed up by some even better celebrations.

While Millwall had a little break, the two Crystal Palace teams played each other. This was another very entertaining game.

To finish off a fun-filled day, the second Crystal Palace team had a game against Millwall and Millwall got their first ever win. The players and parents were ecstatic.

One of the parents said afterwards: “My son had a fab morning. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped arrange the day.” One of the players said: “I have had a good time playing with my friends and making new friends.”

Sophia from DSActive said: “It’s great to see teams come together and have these friendly matches! All you have to do is take a look on the player’s faces to see how much fun they are having; it’s the same for the parents! It gives them a chance to cheer their child/young adult on in a football game. The parents really get into it!!  It’s also nice for players to make new friends. Today has been really good and it’s wonderful to see everyone having such a good time.”
