As spring approaches, the DSActive team are busy launching many new sessions across the country. The 29 February was not only an extra day in the calendar, but it was the launch day of the first new DSActive club for 2020.
Emerson’s Green in Bristol has recently had a new David Lloyd gym open its doors, with a bit of help, we were lucky enough to secure one of the tennis courts on a busy Saturday afternoon to launch our brand new DSActive tennis session. One of the DSActive team went down to join in.
The session started with all 10 participants getting warmed up on the court. Everyone had played a bit of tennis before and it was great to see participants attending from all over Bristol. The coaches did a brilliant job running the session. An old favourite game, where participants have to run across the court without getting hit by the tennis balls thrown by the coach and parents, capped off a brilliant taster day.
Doug from the DSActive team said “It was great to see so many players with Down’s syndrome turn up and have a great time and such a nice venue. We are really looking forward to the session continuing to grow. Huge thanks to Helen Abbott for all her help getting the session of the ground, and for David Lloyd for being such great hosts.”
